The outbuildings were used to store firewood and provisions, and probably as a stall for smaller farm animals such as chickens and rabbits, to allow a degree of self-sufficiency.<\/p>\n

    For a time there was a balcony on the lake side of the south-west wing, which gave direct access to the garden. In old pictures it is evident that the facades were overgrown with ivy for a considerable time.<\/p>\n

    The outbuilding dates from the period 1722-1730. Many monastery format bricks from the conversion of the refectory were reused here.<\/p>\n

    In the cause of self-sufficiency, the garden was used by the canonesses to grow fresh vegetables and fruit. When it was redesigned, it was created as a place for visitors of the monastery and museum to enjoy a break.
